Favorite Towns

Here is a list of flavorful small towns in Washington and Oregon. If you know one that is not on the list, tell me. My only firm criterion in defining a small town is that it must have some kind of overnight accommodation–a motel, a hotel or a bed-and-breakfast. Otherwise, it can be a matter of intuition.  Longview, in southwest Washington has 35,000 residents, not exactly small, but I classify it as such because it is overlooked by most travelers, despite its  history,  fine public buildings, and superb park .
